If a picture is worth a thousand words, than we must have accrued about a quarter million's worth in the work our finalists will be presenting. However, the object of the Haiku poem is to distill as much meaning in as little space as possible: Cut out the extraneous detail and get straight to the heart. Our Haiku finalists did a nice a nice job of translating the ancient Japanese written art form to a modern day visual. Interpretations run the gamut, highlighting scenes from both our natural and man-made worlds. Regardless of the content, each focuses on a moment captured by the artist and is there for the viewer to linger virtually as long as he or she so desires....
KSG is dedicated to promoting Bay Area fine art photography, and this competition and show is one of the events we are sponsoring this year to do just that.
